Terry Swanson

Nurse Practitioner Wound Management NP, MHSc FAWMA, FMACNP

Terry  Swanson, is an internationally recognised Nurse Practitioner in Wound Management, a founding member of the International Wound Infection Institute (IWII) since 2006, an elected Board Member in 2008, and current Chair of the Institute. Since 2016, she has chaired or co-chaired major IWII consensus documents and guidance, helping shape global standards in wound infection prevention and management.

Endorsed as one of the first Nurse Practitioners in Victoria, Australia (2003–2004), Terry’s career spans advanced clinical practice, research, education, and international policy development. She was admitted as a Fellow of the Australian Wound Management Association in 2010 in recognition of her significant contributions to wound management at state, national, and international levels.

A respected author, educator, and international speaker, Terry is committed to translating evidence into practical, patient-centred care. Through her leadership at IWII, she champions global collaboration, consensus-driven guidance, and education to improve outcomes for people living with wounds worldwide.

Donna Larsen

Donna Larsen

Nurse Practitioner Wound Management RN, NP, BN, PGDip (Clin Spec), MSc (Nursing)

Donna is a Nurse Practitioner in Wound Management at Royal Perth Hospital. Donna has over 30 publications in Wound Management and Vascular Surgery, including journal articles, international consensus documents and book chapters. She has also undertaken research in the field of wound management and vascular surgery which has been published.

She is a Board Member for the Australian Journal, Wound Practice and Research. She is the past secretary for Wounds Australia previously known as the Australian Wound Management Association, and the current treasurer for the International Wound Infection Institute. She was also awarded as a Life Member of Wounds Australia for her contribution to the organization. Donna done humanitarian work in Ethiopia. She regularly travels to remote areas in Western Australia to provide wound management education. She has a strong interest in improving the health of indigenous Australians.
